Vision
Healthy Day Fund supports gardens and programs that teach nutrition and environmental responsibility in our schools and our community.
Mission
The mission of Healthy Day Fund is to create programs that support healthy lifestyles through school gardens, wellness and environmental education.
Healthy Day fund was created by two Encinitas Union School District parents who saw a need to provide schools with sustainable programs that help students make informed, healthy lifestyle choices. The fund is intended to support programs that engage students through school gardens, wellness and environmental education - empowering them to make responsible decisions about their own health.
Due to limited school budgets, Healthy Day fund seeks to provide these programs and resources at no cost to the schools.
Implementing resource conservation programs often results in great savings to the school site. When implemented district-wide, these savings become substantial; freeing up much needed funds.
The Healthy Day Fund is run by the Coastal Community Foundation. Please contact Sharon Omahen at 760-942-9245 or email her at Sharon@coastalfoundation.org for more information.
